SUMMARY:CSAH 1 Open House
DESCRIPTION:Redwood County Hwy. Dept. seeks public input on CSAH 1 Local Road Improvement Project. \nThe Redwood County Highway department received a $1.25 million Minnesota Department of Transportation Local Road Improvement Grant to reconstruct CSAH 1 through the City of Clements.  The scope of work includes new aggregate base\, bituminous pavement to a 10 ton design standard\, pedestrian ramps\, curb and gutter\, sidewalk\, LED street lighting\, and upgraded storm sewer.  The total project cost is expected to be $1.7 million.  Sanitary sewer and watermain may also be considered as part of the project\, pending city funding of these utilities on CSAH 1.  The project layout will be finalized in September 2021\, design plans and specifications finalized in February 2022\, project bidding in March 2022\, and construction starting in May 2022. \nAs part of the design process\, the Highway department is seeking the input from residents and commuters to share the vision of CSAH 1 through Clements by participating in a short survey. \nAdditionally\, an in person public open house will be hosted by the Highway Department\, and the engineering firm\, Bolten and Menk.  Those interested in learning more and providing public comment are encouraged to attend the open house on August 2\, 2021 from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the City of Clements Fire Hall.
